EVERY office is rife with them. The serial joke emailer. The backstabber. The jargon hack who uses all the buzzwords about shifting paradigms, thinking outside the box and taking things offline.

Here's my list of top 10 peeves:

1. Loudmouths who shout across the office, or who talk over people in meetings?

2. Malfunctioning IT systems created by incompetent, out-of-date and sadistic PCs.

3. People who send emails trying to solve complex problems with the messages going back and forth, leaving you confused and wondering why the idiot didn't just pick up the phone.

4. Procrastinators who wait until the end of the day before they ask you to do something when you know it was all sitting on their desk.

5. Canteen vending machines that cheat, don't deliver, keep your change and don't respond when you kick them and give them a good belting.

6. Meaningless paper work and emails that are just a waste of space.

7. Workplace lifts that keep taking you to the wrong floor.

8. Festering fridges that look like a bio-terror attack.

9. The ever-shrinking average time between interruptions.

10. The office printer.

So what's on your list?

My response: Miserable whinger who hides behind the facade of "I'm focused and awesome and I do my job so much better than everyone else" who attacks a group of people venting their (funny) frustrations at work. If you're so god-damned focused, why the hell are you reading The Age blogs?!
